Family photo Friday – A study in sepia

Week 8 OF 52 ANCESTORS CHALLENGE
PROMPT: FAMILY PHOTO
.
Today’s photo is a 1920s studio portrait of my grandfather William Henry Allan Harris (i906-1985), his sister Iris Edna Harris (1910-1998) and his brother Herbert Erroll Harris (1908-1996).
The subjects are the three children of my paternal great grandparents, Herbert John Harris (1881-1977) and Mary Isabel Browning (1885-1972). The family was living at 16 Union Street, South Lismore when this photo was taken.
The photo is one of a set of portraits taken by ‘W. G. Parker, The Radford Studio’ in Lismore, New South Wales. The photographer has used a fashionable deep fade to the sepia when printing the photo. Each print is displayed in a cream board presentation folder,
THe photo is particularly special as my paternal grandparents lost most of their family photos in Lismore’s devastating 1954 floods. As far as I know, the photos taken at this sitting are the only remaining photos of my grandfather as a young man.

Lovely photo. You have great looking ancestors!!
